The seventh annual Big Farmland Bird Count is taking place between 7th and 16th February and to help raise the count’s profile a new badge has been produced.
The Big Farmland Bird Count is an important initiative which offers a simple means of recording the effect of any conservation schemes currently being initiated by farmers and gamekeepers on their land such as supplementary feeding or growing wild bird seed crops and game cover crops.
It is also a useful way of gaining personal insight on how well their birds are faring.
Over 1500 people took part in last year’s count and we’re hoping to beat that figure in 2020.
